Objective

Commemoratively launch Torrens University Australia – part of Laureate International Universities – in the city of Adelaide, an emerging education hub in Australia and an ideal base for international students.

Leverage US President Bill Clinton’s role as Honorary Vice Chancellor by incorporating a keynote address into the proceedings, outlining his vision for ‘Global Education in The Future’.

Actions

Key political and industry stakeholders were involved in proceedings to raise the profile of University as a credible and authoritative new entrant in the market.

Components of the event and campaign messaging were designed to showcase Adelaide as a preferred destination for international tertiary students to “Work & Play”.

Students were involved in all aspects of coordination and presentation to showcase work experience opportunities delivered by the University.

Media were invited from around Australia to cover the key note address including live broadcasting and reporting.

Following the event, one-on-one briefings and interviews were organised with key University management, academic staff and participating students.

Results

Over 60 news, education, careers, youth & vertical trade media attended the event with all major TV networks, talk back and news radio broadcasting the keynote speech live.
