Rwanda Tourism chooses The PC Agency to build its brand further in the UK
  • RwandAir to launch new non-stop flights from London Gatwick to Kigali in May
  • One&Only and Wilderness Safaris to open lodges in Rwanda this year
  • Safari experience boosted with entry of black rhinos into Rwanda
  • Rwanda voted top emerging tourist destination and one of the fastest growing countries in Africa

The PC Agency has been selected by the Government of Rwanda to build its brand heavily in the UK, as the country prepares for the first non-stop flights from the UK and the opening of several premium hotels and lodges.

British travellers are among the top five nationalities visiting Rwanda, which welcomed 1.3 million people last year. They’re attracted by the incredible scenery, the opportunity for a unique experience visiting mountain gorillas and the big game safari. The recent arrival of black rhinos in the country means that Rwanda is now offering one of the best safari experiences in Africa.

RwandAir launches the new, non-stop service from London Gatwick to the Rwandan capital Kigali on 26th May. The flights, on a new Airbus A330-200, will offer travellers Business, Premium Economy and Economy cabins three times a week, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Business Class features fully-flat beds. The flight time is 8 hours 40 minutes.

This summer, the leading travel brand One&Only will launch a new lodge in Nyungwe while Wilderness Safaris are due to open Bisate Lodge later this year near Volcanoes National Park. Tour operators, such as Red Savannah, Expert Africa and Wild Frontiers, are also offering bespoke holidays and tours in the country.

The capital Kigali, one of the safest and cleanest cities in Africa, is also expanding, with a new Radisson Blu Hotel & Convention Centre attracting business events from around the world for up to 5,000 delegates. Rwanda has also been named third top MICE destination in Africa.

The Chief Tourism Officer at the Rwanda Development Board, Ms. Belise Kariza, commented:

“Rwanda has seen a transformation in recent years and is now becoming one of the most sought-after destinations for premium travellers. With the new non-stop RwandAir flights to Kigali, and the opening of several premium lodges, Rwanda will be making a big impact as a must-visit country.”

Paul Charles, Founder and CEO of The PC Agency, added:

“Rwanda now has the leadership team, the product and the infrastructure to attract premium travellers. It’s no wonder that some of the world’s leading travel brands are opening new lodges there, to complement the stunning scenery and safari experience. We’re honoured to have been chosen to represent and boost this exciting country in Africa.”
