Baltus Communications wins pitch Turkish National Tourist Board for the Dutch market
Dutch Travel Lifestyle Network member Baltus Communications is delighted to have won the pitch for the Turkish National Tourist Board and to have been appointed as its PR & Marketing Communications agency for the Dutch market. Together with four competing agencies, Baltus Communications delivered an extensive action plan for the representation of the destination in The Netherlands and was chosen as the best fit. From March 1 the agency has taken over the account yet again as Turkey was also represented by Baltus Communications from 2005-2008.
“In the knowledge that tourism unites people, we are very pleased to positively promote the varied holiday destination amongst the Dutch holiday makers.” Marcel Baltus, Managing Director, says.
The communications agency will not only focus on the beach holiday product of Turkey, but also showcase aspects such as art & culture, big events, winter sports, gastronomy and active & outdoor Turkey featuring as mountain biking and hiking. Additionally Istanbul as a buzzing city trip destination will be one of the promotional topics. Istanbul is one of the 24 cities that participate at the annual European City Breaks Press Event Baltus Communications organizes on April 4 in Amsterdam.
Turkey welcomes over 23 million tourists per year from all over the world, spending a total of $ 15 billion. In 2016 the destination received 906.333 Dutch tourists, making it the 4th most important European source market after Germany, the UK and Bulgaria. Not only in Turkey itself but also for travel companies in The Netherlands tourism forms an important source of income.
